I have to confess I know very little about essential oils, which is the reason why I was drawn to this review. I have a daughter with whom I share a love for candles and crystals, so I felt that this was something we could learn about together.
I was asked to review the Aroma Energy Essential Oil Gift Travel Case. It arrived well packed with bubble wrap and in perfect condition.
The travel case is really attractive in black and orange colours, and is a solid case to protect the contents. It feels very well made and is shock and water resistant, with a chunky zip so I do not envisage the zipper breaking anytime soon. It’s 12cm by 17cm so it’s nice and compact.
Inside, the base has a foam insert with holes for potentially 15 different oils so you can add to the collection of 4 within this travel set should you wish. I love this idea as it means that you can keep them all together to prevent losing them, don’t have to waste money on more storage bags and you can take them wherever you go!
In the lid are some labelled and also blank stickers so that you can label your essential oils. There is also a multifunctional bottle opener tool which is a lovely touch for anyone who struggles with their dexterity, or when the bottles become a little oily and tricky to open.
The four oils contained within this set are all 10ml in size; Anxiety, Lavender, Bergamot and Patchouli. However, you can simply buy the travel bag and fill it with oils of your choice, or there are other versions of the same travel pack available containing different oils depending upon your need.
Lavender is apparently used for insomnia, fatigue, stress and fear; bergamot is good for stress, anxiety and depression; and patchouli improves sleep and de-stresses the mind. Sounds perfect for me to be honest!
I had to rely on the Aroma Energy website for some guidance, and found a blog on the home page which explained how to use essential oils. I followed some of the suggestions, and tried adding a few drops to the wall of my shower to allow me to inhale deeply to experience the therapeutic properties of the oil. The blog also explained how to add the oils to your bath or to a warm wash cloth to exfoliate, or even using a diffuser or humidifier. It tells you some do’s and don’t so it is a good read if you are new to this as I am.
I have to say it was an amazing experience to have a hot shower with the oils circulating around me, and it was so relaxing that I felt like I was at a spa. I certainly felt relaxed, calm and a little spoiled afterwards. I already love the scent of lavender as it reminds me of my garden, but I played around and added the other oils at the same time and found it to be a genuinely wonderful experience after a long day.
The retail price of £19.99 feels very fair, although the set is currently on offer for £15.99 which is a real bargain.
I love this gift-set as a Mother’s Day idea for those who love their essential oils and aromatherapy already, but also for those like myself who are new to this but looking for natural ways to reduce stress or improve other aspect of their life. This gift is suitable for any age group and is a more unusual way to spoil Mum rather than the usual flowers, chocolates and bath sets.
I would award the Aroma Energy Essential Oil Gift Travel Case 5 stars out of 5.
