Me and my mum went to see Jersey Boys at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking.
This is the true life story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. It tells the story through acting, singing and dancing of four young men; Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy Devito and Nick Massi and how they started out as nothing special but became a massively popular pop group in the 60’s whose songs featured in films such as the Deer Hunter and Dirty Dancing. It takes you through the ups and downs of their career, in often funny moments it also tells a part of Frankie Valli’s life not everyone knew about, such as the death of his daughter in a touching moment. To be honest I wasn’t sure before I watched the show if I knew any of their music but I think everyone knows there songs such as Big Girls Don’t Cry, Walk Like a Man and Working My Way Back To You Babe, I just didn’t realise who sung them before.
This show is so upbeat with loads of brilliant singing and dancing and the acting and singing has such a smooth flow that captivates you, I can easily see why this show is a West End phenomenon and we thoroughly enjoyed watching this.
The New Victoria Theatre is easy to get to from the A3 with ample parking at a very reasonable rate just a few minutes walk away. This theatre is my favourite one it’s so stylish and modern with staff that are always friendly and helpful. We’ve always been very impressed with everything about our visit.
You’ll been surprised how many songs you know, the Jersey Boys sold 175 million records worldwide and were hugely popular and you just want to sing along as it brings back memories of those times, at the end there wasn’t a person not on their feet applauding. They really were great, I am so glad we got to see this totally unforgettable show. Oh What a Night! A definite well-deserved 5 out of 5.
Tickets cost from £13.90 to £59.40 (plus £2.85 transaction fee).
