This book is described as a sexy new age romance. I must admit I was initially unsure, but I found it really easy to get into. I loved the fact that the main female character is a geek who is unsure of herself. Olivia Jones is the main female character, she loves the tenth Dr Who (who doesn’t?) and would rather play computer games than go out socialising. She’s also a very intelligent woman who runs her own business and the story starts as she begins to expand her business she finds her world turned upside down by Steven Teller who joins her company, and Steven’s friend Chris Knight who she only knows through the computer, and who becomes a very powerful influence on her sexual awakening. I found the sexual scenes really added to the story and the understanding of Olivia’s character.
This story is really well written and the characters come across as real people that you can actually relate to! There are lots of plot twists and some characters that you just love to hate! I would definitely read it again, and will be recommending it to my friends.
This quote taken from www.saundrafox2.wordpress.com sums up nicely what the novel is about as it’s so much more than just a book about sexual experience.
“Inspired by Night is an adult romance novel, it has its fair share of sexual content, some mystery and lashings of nerdy goodness. It’s got a little of something for everyone. A touch of the romantic period drama, the anonymity of an episode of Catfish and the social awkwardness of The Big Bang Theory.”
Definitely a top read! I can’t wait for L E May’s next novel.
