Honor ES Smartwatch Review

I love trying out tech products, as does my partner, so I jumped at the chance of reviewing the Honor ES Smartwatch.   Valentine’s day is coming up and so I decided that this would be the perfect item to give to my partner.    I was so excited having read about the wide functionality of this smartwatch so it is great that it arrived with my partner quickly, in perfect condition, within a few days. I was also delighted to hear that there was not excessive packaging in the parcel.   My partner quickly set about opening the box and getting the watch set up.

The watch is black and looks sleek, simple and stylish. He was a little bit concerned that the watch would not be comfortable to wear overnight, but needn’t have worried.   I am delighted by this as my partner is not usually someone who wears watches overnight.

This smartwatch has so many handy functions:

Phone calls, text messages and whatsapp messages come through to the smartwatch –

You can reject phone calls but not answer them using your watch.  You can read text messages and whatsapp messages,

Level of vibrations –

You can change the settings to be more obvious or more subtle.   My partner tends to keep the watch on a light vibrate.

Display –

The box informed us that the watch has a 1.64 Android display.  We think that the display looks great and works well. This smartwatch oozes practicality as well as stylish looks.

Workout modes –

Whilst my partner has not done any of the workouts, he has had a good look through the various options.   There are 95 workout modes which is a really generous number.  Some are there and others there as an option to add.  He and I love the variety of options for workouts available on the Honor ES. 

You can even easily view your workout records.

Battery life –

My partner completely agrees with the product information saying that the smartwatch has a long battery life and is fast charging. The process of charging the device is very easy.

Water resistance/linking to other devices –

This product uses Bluetooth.  You have to download the Huowei Health App.   Product information told us that this product has 5ATM water resistance.

Health monitoring –

These are the functions that I would say my partner uses more than anything else….

Sleep monitoring – We find it interesting to see that my partner seems to get a better quality of the sleep when he does not have work the next day.   On nights where he has work the next day, he tends to get mostly light sleep.   The functionality is great and you can see how much of each type of sleep you got. It is colour coded – deep sleep, light sleep and falling asleep.

Pedometer – My partner loves being able to see how many steps he has done in a day.  This is a great motivator.  I think that if and when the current situation eases and we can be outdoors together more enjoying the fresh air, this functionality will prove more and more useful.

Heart rate , stress and SP02 – All very handy functions which my partner uses often.

Weather – the weather function is great.

Stopwatch/Flashlight – My partner uses the flashlight a lot.  It is very simple to operate.

Alarm – another very handy function.

Breathing exercises – Whilst my partner has not yet tried these out, he does think that this will be helpful to him.

Overall, we were both delighted with the Honor ES Smartwatch.  We think that it’s functionality is amazing and the price is so reasonable. We would both recommend this product and Honor as a whole to others. He is so happy with his early Valentine’s Day treat from me. This would make an amazing Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Easter or just because gift idea for someone special in your life.
