Heathers the Musical is heading to Poole this autumn, bringing its wickedly funny, deliciously dark brand of high-school mayhem to Lighthouse from Tuesday 29 September to Saturday 3 October.
Following three hugely successful West End runs and three record-breaking UK and Ireland tours, Heathers has firmly established itself as a fan favourite. The current New York production at New World Stages opened in June 2025 to the biggest advance in the venue’s history and, following overwhelming demand, has been extended through September 2026.
Based on the iconic film starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, Heathers the Musical combines razor-sharp humour, unforgettable characters and a deliciously dark story with a riotous score, promising a night of outrageous fun.
Welcome to Westerberg High, where popularity is everything and being a nobody comes at a price. Veronica Sawyer is an outsider longing to find her place and make a name for herself. But when she is unexpectedly welcomed into the inner circle of the three beautiful—and brutally ruthless—Heathers, her dreams of popularity finally seem within reach.
Then JD arrives. Mysterious, magnetic and unmistakably dangerous, the rebellious new boy turns Veronica’s world upside down. He offers her a tantalising escape from the suffocating rules of high school—but his idea of becoming somebody comes with consequences neither of them could have imagined.
Taking on the role of Veronica is Gerardine Sacdalan, who wowed audiences as Juliet in the UK tour of @Juliet. Her performance earned her a nomination for Best Professional Debut at last year’s WhatsOnStage Awards.
She is joined by Louis Hearsey (I Was a Teenage She-Devil) as JD; Liberty Stottor (Six the Musical) as the incomparable Heather Chandler; Jessica Ibadin, making her professional debut as Heather Duke; and Lou Henry (Six the Musical) as Heather McNamara.
Heathers the Musical is directed by acclaimed American screen and stage director Andy Fickman, with choreography by Gary Lloyd. The creative team also includes David Shields (design), Ben Cracknell (lighting), Dan Samson (sound), and musical supervision by Jeremy Wootton and Will Joy.
The production is produced by Bill Kenwright Ltd and Paul Taylor-Mills.
With its wicked wit, larger-than-life characters and darkly comic take on the pressures of teenage popularity, Heathers the Musical promises to bring something truly outrageous to the Lighthouse stage.
