Folly Farm Adventure Park & Zoo 2018 Review

Reviewed by Yvette Morgan

We visited Folly Farm, which is located in amazing countryside along the west Wales coast, in August 2018. Folly Farm has been a firm favourite of ours since the park opened in 1988, during this time we have watched it grow from strength to strength, in my opinion this park is now the best attraction of its type in the UK. There is so much for all the family at Folly farm, and everything is reasonably priced.

The Jolly Barn

My younger grandchildren love interacting with animals, and in the Jolly Barn there is such a variety of animals such as ferrets, mice, miniature ponies to shire horses, donkeys and goats. There is a daily timetable for the children to get involved with hand feeding the goats and meeting farm animals, the barns are spotlessly clean and the staff constantly remind the children to wash their hands after petting the animals.

There are lots of different activities in the Jolly Barn throughout the day, such as shows, juggling and face painting.

The children always have fun seeing how they match up, in size, to the animals.

The Zoo

The older children adore the zoo animals, it is so nice to see the huge enclosures allowing the animals to run freely, again the whole area is spotlessly clean, they must work incredibly hard to maintain this standard of hygiene.

I love companies with CSR policies and Folly Farm are seriously committed to the conservation and protection of animals in the wild.

There is also a very strong focus on educating visitors on the cruel reality of life in the wild for these stunning animals.

The children can also see how they match up to the size of the animals.

The Vintage Fairground

The children loved the Big Wheel, I would advise first timers to the Farm to ride the big wheel first as there are magnificent views, plus you can see the whole layout of the park, which helps you decide which direction you need to go.

My personal favourite at the park is the indoor vintage fairground, it’s so nostalgic and fun, and the rides are also incredibly reasonably priced.

Food and Drink

There are several food outlets, again all reasonably priced serving anything from local ice creams to bangers and mash, there really is something for everyone, the Cwtch Coffee Shop serves and delicious array of cakes.

I would give Folly farm a very well deserved five star rating.
