Reviewed by DT
I have always been a huge fan of ALDI and have often shopped in their stores abroad as well as their UK ones. This month I decided to see how far £70 would stretch at ALDI.
Over the month I bought the following items:
Whole Chicken
Chicken Thighs And Legs
5% Fat Beef Mince
Potatoes
Sweet Potatoes
Red Onions
Tomatoes
Oranges
Apples
Bananas
Grapes
Diet Coke
Rice
Baked Beans
Tinned Tomatoes
Chilli Powder
Pizza
Garlic Bread
Corn On The Cob
Carrots
Courgettes
Onions
Milk
Spread
Bread
Pasta
Pasta Sauce
Beef Slices
Egg Sandwich Filler
Low Fat Yoghurt
Fromage Frais
Crisps
Biscuits
Cider
Small Bottles Of Water
Tomato Ketchup
Breakfast Cereal
Casserole Mix
Mushy Peas
Eggs
My £70 budget lasted almost the whole month. I am delighted as I am on a very tight budget food wise. We ate so healthily. The whole chicken did a few meals. I filled up on homemade vegetable soup and bread. The fruit is so fresh and tasty. It’s great that top branded products like Diet Coke are available at ALDI.
Favourite meals this month have been chicken casserole, pasta with vegetable sauce, chilli con carne and roast chicken dinner. If I am in a hurry I cook something like eggs, beans & chips.
My weight loss efforts are going so well.
There are plenty of products available for those who eat gluten free which is great as those products can work out so expensive. Entertaining friends is not an expensive occasion as there is a wonderful variety of inexpensive alcohol and snacks.
I save a fortune at ALDI whilst eating well and working on reducing my weight.
