The Eye of Horus Scarab Sapphire Goddess Pencil arrived packaged in a eye catching black card box, with mirror effect writing that really stands out. It was very easy to open the packaging without any frustration and also without ripping the box, meaning that the pencil can be stored inside so avoid damaging the pencil. I opened the box to find a long, black pencil- again with the shiny mirror effect writing and the Eye of Hours logo on. Each end of the pencil had a lid to cover. At one end there is a sharp dark blue eyeliner pencil, and at the other end there is a black smudging tool.

I then went about starting to apply the eyeliner. Firstly to the top eyelid. The pencil was very smooth to apply, and creamy making it very easy to get a smooth, straight line. I went about smudging the line with the other end of the pencil, which instantly gave a fantastic effect of an eyeshadow. It was very easy to smudge the eyeliner, as the thick creamy line could be spread evenly. The colour (which was originally an eye catching, dark ‘Sapphire’ colour) became a lighter shade which was perfect as an eyeshadow. It was easy to use both ends of the pencil to apply different shades of colour to the whole eyelid. Even when applying to the lower eyelid it was remarkably easy to use which impressed me as the lower lid always proves to be a challenge for me.

After applying I went out for the day armed with the eyeliner pencil in my makeup bag, fully expecting to have to reapply at some point during the day as I usually would. However surprisingly, I didn’t! The colour lasted on my upper eyelid for the while 8 hours that I was out and on the lower lid for the majority of the day, although it was a little faded right on the edge. I was amazed by this and it saved a lot of time in my day.

This product has exceeded my expectations massively and I would certainly use this product again in the future. I will also be recommending it to family who I know would appreciate the ease of use and how long it lasts without looking ruined. Although it is pricey for an eye pencil it is extremely good quality and good value as it will last a very long time when only having to apply once for the day.
