I don’t do a lot of jigsaws but once I start I get completely hooked into them and these are no exception.

A Djigsaw VU puzzle is not your average jigsaw they take jigsaws to another level and it’s something I’ve not done before. Inside the box are two 1000 piece jigsaws, both puzzles are the same theme, in this case “the classroom” the pictures are similar but from different times in history, this is time traveling through a jigsaw.

The futuristic scene is a classroom full of pupils using laptops, iPads, phones, the floor is strewn with face masks, wiped and hand sanitiser and the only teacher is a robot. It is a lovely bright colourful scene with lots going on. Just as I find with all puzzles it was a slow start but once the picture started to appear I couldn’t tear myself away from it, I really enjoyed completing so much so that I was kind of sorry when it was finished ,it just the right level of difficulty for me.

The second puzzle was a classroom scene from a time gone by, this one is not as colourful it has more brown tones to reflect the age and is a bit more difficult to complete as there is no picture to refer to. only the previous puzzle. The pupils are the same characters but dressed in clothes from the era and the room is set out the same but in this picture the pupils are using books and have pencil cases on the desk with satchels besides them. There is a large blackboard on the wall and an actual teacher in a black gown. Some of the differences really made me chuckle like in place of the three recycling bins in the futuristic picture there’s an overflowing dustbin in older version.

Looking at both of these puzzles when completed is such a reminder of how the classroom has changed over the years.

A jigsaw makes a good gift for many people but because of the classroom theme this one would be a unique quirky thank you teacher gift at the end of term.

Jigsaws are so under rated, the enjoyment we got from these puzzles was huge, and it was nice when family members visited to see them drawn to it too. They ended up becoming family projects just like the old days before we all got addicted to looking at screens.

I recommend getting a puzzle mat so you can safely move the puzzle when you need to use the table. The puzzles come in a very sturdy box but I suggest putting each puzzle in a Ziplock bag so there’s no chance of the puzzles getting mixed up. You will have this puzzle in the cupboard for years to be brought out time and time again.

Looking ahead to Christmas there is also a Djigsaw VU Christmas market version that would make a great gift.
