Aldi Christmas Food Review

Our team were recently lucky enough to sample a lovely selection of Aldi Festive Food and Drink. The milk chocolate reindeer was the first to be devoured by my 6 year old.   No one else got a look in. A lot of the food was used for a small social gathering. The truffles disappeared almost immediately. The stollen bites were a firm favourite, with many people wanting just one more until the pack had gone. They are just the right size, full of flavour and not too dry.   I would definitely buy them again. The marzipan stollen was another popular item, not much of it was left over after our gathering. It had just the right amount of marzipan and like the stollen bites was tasty and not too dry. The mince pies with their delicious, crumbly pasty and tangy filling did not last long.  All the dessert or confectionary items mentioned cost £1.99 or less and so are a fantastic bargain with plenty to go around.

The Passions Savoury snack mix at just 99p was a big hit with adults and children alike. As with the stollen we just had to have a handful more.  The whole pack was quickly empty.

Overall the Christmas nibbles were a huge success. I would definitely repurchase all of the items. We also were able to sample a meat and fish joint, some goose fat roast potatoes, Philippe Michel Crémant du Jura Sparkling Chardonnay 75cl (£6.99), Baron Amarillo Rioja Reserva 2006 75cl (£5.99) and Oliver Cromwell 1599 Premium Gin 0.5l (£9.29). We had a lovely roast dinner which was great value, great news for those budget conscious people amongst us.   The meat and fish were tasty and tender and the generous portion size meant there was plenty to go around.  The wine and gin made for a wonderful Festive tipple and I will definitely be buying these items from Aldi again once they have run out.

Aldi offer convenient, tasty, quality food and drink at fantastic prices.  I would definitely use them for my festive food requirements in the future.
