Cirque Berserk! opened at the King’s Theatre in Glasgow last night thrilling the audience with all the thrills and spills of the circus in the comfort of the theatre.
The show runs in Glasgow until the 29th of January then continues its tour around the UK. The show runs for around 150 minutes including an interval.
Directed by Julius Green the stars of Zippos Circus present a hair raising show of acrobat, ariel artists, knife throwers, dancer, jugglers and of course a clown.
The most terrifying was definitely the Globe of Terror from the Lucius Team where four motorbikes race at speed around a metal sphere live on stage, really quite spectacular!
The unbelievible strength and beauty of the performance from the Finish Duo Ramona & Matti is one to see.
My sons favorites were the Tropicana Troupe from Cuba with their fancy head dresses they catapulted each other sepctacular heights and also the Timbuktu Tumblers showing off the acrobatic prowess with their towers of people.
It is a totally international show but Tweedy the Clown hails from Bonnie Scotland! Tweedy entertains the audience with a great variety of slapstick comedy, the kids loved him!
The show is staged very atmospherically though at times it would be nice to see the acts a little better, especially some of the ariel acts.
The King’s Theatre is situated on Bath street in Glasgow City Centre. It is a 15 minute walk from Buchanan Street but well serviced by bus service and taxis. There is on street parking in the vicinity though it can be busy.
The theatre is very comfortable and the staff helpful and welcoming.
Cirque Berserk! is a great show of all ages to enjoy a night in the comfort of the theatre though you will be sitting on the edge of your seat at times… a truly spectacular show!
