As someone who is and always has been an avid reader I am always on the lookout for fun educational books for my children. It really is never too early to get them used to sitting down with a book. It not only teaches them things, but it also brings a closeness only reading a book together can.
We have four grandchildren and the amount of times I have returned from a walk to the park or a shopping visit and I’m several toys down, a shoe and sock missing and lord knows what else. When I spotted the buggy book range I was delighted.
Each book has a colourful cotton strap with Velcro, which if like me you have a bar across the front of the stroller, you can anchor the book to it, or the handle of the car seat for younger children, or the side bar of your pram. What a great idea!
The books are made of high quality board and follow a theme, I have the Where’s Mr Duck, Where’s Mrs Ladybird and Where’s Mr Lion books. The books are sensory, which one of my grandsons particularly enjoyed. Children from a wide range of angles can be fully engaged with these books, they are certainly great to keep in the car whilst travelling. There are a variety of animals behind felt shapes in the books, and you encourage your child to find the variety of animals throughout the story. Then right on the last page there is a mirror, and they can see themselves. They particularly giggled at that.
You can get so much from these lovely little books, animals colours, flowers, there is a great amount of time you can spend, surprisingly for such small books, great though for little hands. With four grown up children, I would have valued these when mine were young! I could have strapped them to their wrist, no dropping from the pram or stroller then.
They really are very engaging and fun for I would say children from six months to six years, my two nearly four year olds and a nearly five year old giggled lots over them, and thoroughly enjoyed what they termed as hide and seek with these books about the animals.
They would make a great gift as first books for any little ones to get them reading early, they will grow a lifetime love of books that money cannot buy.
