If you have a little one who loves doll’s houses and getting creative, or know someone who does, this festive playset is a lovely idea for Christmas. It gives children the opportunity to decorate a doll’s house with Christmas-themed accessories, furniture and characters, creating their own little festive world. With stickers, press-out pieces and plenty of decorations, there’s lots to explore. Whether you’re looking for a birthday present or something special to put under the Christmas tree, this would make a lovely gift for children who enjoy imaginative play.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
I love the idea of having a playset that allows children to get involved rather than simply looking at pictures in a book. There’s something lovely about being able to create your own little Christmas scene, especially when it involves decorating a doll’s house. It’s a fun way to bring a little festive magic into playtime.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
There’s plenty to discover in this set, including five characters, Father Christmas, a Christmas tree, four presents, a snowman and a sledge. You also receive furniture, including a sofa with two cushions, a dining table and four chairs, a coffee table and a bed. There are also six toys, along with other accessories and decorations to complete the doll’s house.
DESIGN AND STYLE
The Christmas theme makes this a lovely seasonal addition to a doll’s house. I really like the idea of children being able to arrange the furniture, position the characters and decorate the rooms to create their own festive scenes. The stickers add another creative element, allowing children to put their own stamp on the doll’s house once it’s completed.
QUALITY AND DURABILITY
The set includes press-out characters and pieces that can be assembled into 3D furniture. As with any playset containing removable pieces, I would recommend keeping everything together carefully after use to avoid losing any of the accessories.
EASY SETUP AND IMAGINATIVE PLAY
Some assembly is required, but the instructions and online videos are very helpful. The videos offer something different, as little ones can watch how everything is assembled and copy the steps themselves. Once everything is ready, children can let their imaginations run wild, creating doll’s house adventures and inventing their own Christmas stories.
DEVELOPMENTAL BENEFITS
I’m a big fan of any game or toy that offers developmental benefits, and this playset has plenty. Pressing out pieces, assembling furniture and positioning the characters can help develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Decorating the doll’s house encourages creativity, while inventing stories can help develop language skills and imagination.
