Brewers Fayre Monifieth Farm Review

Reviewed by Stella Young

We took a trip out to Monifieth Farm, which is just outside Dundee, as a birthday treat for myself.

We waited for a couple of minutes, before being ushered to our table by the server. She was polite, and also pointed out what was available on the specials board for the day. There was also an option of themed buffet night, which on a Friday is chip shop.

The restaurant had a nice ambience, with easy listening background music.

The wine list had a good selection of wines available, start at a very reasonable £8.49 a bottle, or also available by the glass. We opted for the Lindemans Sauvignon Blanc to accompany our meals.

My husband went to order at the bar, and was disappointed that his choice of meal wasn’t available and we hadn’t been informed of this beforehand. So he then opted for a mixed grill, while I asked if it would be possible to have the quorn chilli, as this was on the day time menu and we were there in the evening. The chilli was served with rice, tortilla chips and sour cream, not too spicy, but very tasty. The mixed grill was a big plate full, although the meat was more well done than medium as requested. But we were offered a free dessert to compensate for this.

We didn’t have our children with us on this occasion, but there is a large soft play area available for a small additional charge. There is also an outdoor play area which is free to use.

We were quite satisfied with our meals, and we are planning another trip soon to one of the themed nights for Mexican All You Can Eat Buffet for £5.99.

All of their menus are available online here.

Overall good value for money, and good service.
