Aloe Vera is a green spiky leafed plant I associate with lazy days in faraway climes, but it also has undisputed health benefits. Inside those prickly squidgy leaves is the aloe vera gel that’s used as a base for so many products these days, from skincare to drinks, but why is it so good for you?
For a start it’s 100% natural and can grow freely under the right conditions. It has antioxidant properties, so it fights against those nasty’s we let into our body such as alcohol, infections, or toxins. It’s also antibacterial, so it fights off bad bacteria & its anti-inflammatory, so it reduces inflammation such as pain or swelling, basically It’s an all-round good guy of the plant world.
You can see then why I was so pleased to be able to try out Forever Living’s range of Aloe Vera based products. Forever Living is the largest grower and manufacturer of aloe vera and aloe vera based products in the world. Using Barbadensis Millerone, one of the best varieties of the four hundred types grown all over the world, it is hand tended and hand filleted to ensure it produces a top-quality product. In fact, Forever Living is so confident of the quality it will provide a sixty-day money-back guarantee if you are not entirely satisfied.
One of their Flagship products is their Aloe Propolis Crème. Bee Propolis is another natural & additive free product that is known for its heath benefits, so to mix it with aloe vera is an ingenious idea that results in a fabulous crème. Bee Propolis is made by honeybees using parts of plants resulting in a resinous substance, which, similar to aloe vera it is said to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, and wound-healing qualities. Add this to pure inner leaf aloe vera gel and chamomile and you have a thick nourishing cream that’s suitable for all parts of the body. The resinous compound in the propolis creates a barrier on the skin, so provides fantastic protection against wind, rain and chafing whilst locking in the natural benefits of the aloe.
The crème comes in a white and honey coloured tube, which I thought it was well designed by using a honeycomb illustration to advertise the fact that it has bee propolis in the ingredients. It’s a great value product coming in a decently sized 113g flip lidded tube that seems like it will last for ages, certainly a little goes a long way.
I found the crème to have the perfect consistency, not too thick, but not watery either and it worked into my skin well leaving no greasy residue. I gave the cream a thorough test out spending the majority of the weekend out and about watching Rugby or show jumping and I found it worked really well to keep my hands, in particular, soft and healthy and my cuticles smooth.
Forever Living’s Aloe Bee Propolis Creme really is the perfect gift, especially for gardeners or those who work outside. It’s a premium feeling moisturising lotion at a non-premium price. I would highly recommend it.
