Myself and my friend had the fabulous opportunity to watch and review Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance Dangerous Games show at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. We both drove from our homes in Eccles, Manchester to Winter Gardens theatre in Blackpool. We found Winter Gardens theatre really easy to find as it is literally right next to Blackpool Tower.

Winter Gardens Is a traditional theatre with a circular auditorium, decorative plasterwork both around the stage and on the walls and ceiling.

Upon arrival to the theatre we were greeted by the manager at the ticket desk who was friendly and handed us our tickets. A steward showed us which way we needed go to our seats. Slightly confusing seating numbers as the seating is divided one side odd to the other even.

Once seated the chairs where comfy even though there wasn’t much leg room. We was positioned central towards the rear but still had a great view of the stage.

I always enjoyed watching River Dance on television. I was slightly disheartened not too see the real Michael Flatley as opposed to only seeing him on a projection screen behind stage, Cathal Keaney did a fantastic job leading the dancers as ‘the Lord’.

The actors gave a good contrast between the good versus evil and how the evil seductress Morrighan tries her best to come in-between the Lord of the Dance and his true love Saoirse.

The show consists of tap dancers, ballet, a professional singer (Nadine Coyle) formally from Girls Aloud and the talented musicians.

Half way through the performance there was an interval which was great as it gave us time to stretch our legs and get refreshments.

To conclude my review I would highly recommend going to see the Lord of the Dance tour, great dancing, great singing and an overall great show.
