My friend and I went to see Go Dance 15 at the Theatre Royal in Glasgow. I was a little unaware of what would be showcased, and decided not to look up beforehand. Go Dance did not disappoint.

The show was held in the beautiful and modern Theatre Royal. It is grand, and designed in a modern fashion, which is unique to the theatre as others in Glasgow tend to be traditional and refurbished. It is a beautiful building inside and out. Situated in the heart of Glasgow city centre, parking can be difficult, however, there are nearby multi-story car parks and an abundance of public transport option with the closest bus stop just outside the theatre itself. Train and underground stations are less than a 10 minute walk away. The entrance of the building is easy to locate with large open doors. The entrance foyer is beautiful, with marble flooring and glass fronting. Lots of staff were on hand to direct us where to go. The box office was easy to locate as it was close to the entrance. After receiving our tickets, we headed off to our seats. Again, these were easy to locate as there was visible signage to each seating area. Our seats were in the Dress Circle and the view was great. We were on the 1st floor of the building and we had a very good view of the stage as the rows of seats had a good height difference from the first making it easy for every row to see the performance. The seating was comfortable with plenty of leg room.

Onto the performance itself. The stage was set-up was minimal, which was expected as the programme informed us that there would be many different dancing groups. The show began and we were met by a host who welcomed us to the show. The variety of dancing acts was great! There was a range of all ages, abilities, race and gender. The music used for each act was well suited. We had classical music, to dance, hip-hop and even Harry Potter inspired! The change up every few minutes held the attention of the audience for with whole show with the input from the host between acts.

The host informed us that many of the individual dancers had won awards for their beautiful choreography and dancing ability. Many of the groups as a collective had also won awards. Each group presented themselves in a professional manner and we could almost see how proud they were to be stood on the stage showcasing their hard work and determination.

To sum it up in three words, the show was a beautiful, moving and inspiring. I think the fact that the end of the show was met by a huge round of applause from the Glasgow crowd, young and old, proves how much everyone loved it.
