Nims Fruit Crisps Review
Nim’s Fruit Crisps

Much to my delight, a box of Nim’s Fruit Crisps was delivered by my postman for me to review. The four flavours I received were: Apple and Strawberry, Apple and Kiwi, Orange and Melon, Pineapple and Mango.
The crisps are marketed as a healthy yet tasty snack and I couldn’t agree more. I devoured the apple and strawberry flavour very quickly as the sweet apple slices crunched then melted in my mouth and I could imagine how succulent the fruit was before it was sliced and dried. I would’ve loved more strawberries in the pack but the few I had were both sweet and sharp and a delicious complement to the apples.
I then moved on to the apple and kiwi variety. I have to admit I was a little apprehensive about how dried kiwi would taste but I needn’t have worried as they, like the strawberries above, were gently flavoured, sweet, sharp and delicious.
In full tasting mode, I ripped open the packet of orange and melon slices and I have to admit I was disappointed in comparison to the previous two flavours. The melon was a little tasteless, much like an under ripe honeydew melon can be, but the orange slices were quite bitter. It may be that this flavour just didn’t hit the high notes on my admittedly sweet tooth. Perhaps if the two fruits were used in a different flavour combination they would work better.
Finally, I opened the last pack, pineapple and mango. Pineapple is my favourite fruit of all time so I was looking forward to trying the dried version. I have to say it was everything I had hoped it would be. Mouthwateringly sweet with that lovely hint of acidity, just the way pineapple should be. The dried mango slices work perfectly with the pineapple, creating a tropical taste sensation, making me (almost) forget about these cold winter nights!
All in all, I wholeheartedly recommend these products. As a new mum, it can be very tempting to reach for junk when you want a quick snack but from now on I’ll be making sure I have a supply of these fruit crisps in the cupboard.
