Dream Journal by Jacqueline Wilson Review

Illustrated by Nick Sharrett

Reviewed by Louise Best

This book dazzled me with its fascinating illustrations from the front cover to the fun characters which lined the pages. Unique facts about dreams and the way we dream are explored which I feel for young girls for whom I think this book is aimed at, is fantastic. Part of the book is like a notebook where scribbles about recalled dreams can be written or even perhaps what would like to be dreamt about.

There are puzzles in the book including a word search and a letter challenge which I think adds a little more fun to exploring what dreams mean to little girls; and there is also a page where the ‘Dreamer’ can place a photograph of themselves declaring the book theirs!

Overall I feel this ‘Dream Journal’ is a lot of fun and feel that any young girl aged between 8 years to 13 years of age would thoroughly enjoy it and use it frequently. I do feel that the price of this book at £6.99 is very reasonable; given that it is also a hardback book. I’d be happy to purchase such a book for my younger nieces as I know it would become a treasured possession.
