The notion of self-care has been on the rise, especially over the last year. People have looked to find peace and meaning in a variety of ways – whether that was baking banana bread, throwing themselves into Netflix (“completed it, mate.”), or simply taking some time for themselves. Forging the “new normal” was, and still is stressful. Sometimes we all just need to take a step back a breathe. But it really is easy to forget to do that. Whether you’re guilty of trying to do too much yourself, or you can see a friend beginning to be a bit frazzled, we all need these reminders.

And that’s where Think Plenty comes in.

The founder of Think Plenty, Tyesha, suffered a family tragedy at age 23. She found herself without support from close family and friends. And while this experience was incredibly hard, she’s created something positive out of the darkness. Think Plenty. Her website notes “I hope to simplify how we show our sympathies”, and I believe these beautiful little cards with printed notes happily fit the bill.

With sleek, minimalist card designs, they wouldn’t look out of place on any pin board, fridge, mantelpiece, in a frame or stuck to your mirror as a daily reminder! You can choose from 6 different affirmations: “it’s ok to go slow”, “because words matter”, “take time”, there’s always room for how you feel”, “remember the piece you cannot buy” and “no pressure.” All of the 6 designs are simple but elegant, and laid out in minty green and deep black. And, they each include a minty green envelope and first class stamp so you don’t need to worry about sorting these yourself.

If sustainability is your thing, everything is recyclable including the card, mint envelope – even the shipping envelopes are made from recyclable materials. A great touch for the eco-concious!

At RRP £3.99, they’re great value for money. You can easily pop one of these in the post to that person you’ve been meaning to reconnect with. Or maybe you just want to tell your bestie that she doesn’t need to try and learn yet another lockdown skill. Or, maybe, you don’t know what to say, so sending a card just reminds someone you’re there. That’s essentially what these lovely little postcards are – reminders and affirmations.

Also, who doesn’t love to receive post? I still get a bit excited when an unknown envelope drops through the letterbox. Writing also has its benefits – it’s super personal with the added bonus that the recipient can have the postcard forever. I mean, what is a better way to send a meaningful message? Answers on a postcard please (haha!).

As the Think Plenty website says: “In our increasingly digital world, and with remote working lives we can sometimes lose the feeling of human connection. Is that text or voice note you sent actually sentimental? Human connection is an essential part of maintaining our mental health.”

So get your pens to the ready – it’s time to start a green and black card writing revolution.

Simply gorgeous little pick-me-up cards to brighten anyone’s day during these strange times. Just because!
