We went to Wheelgate All-Action Family Theme Park in Nottinghamshire with another family and so in total there were 4 adults and 5 children (8 months, 3 years, 4 years and two 6 year olds. I must admit when we first arrived I thought it looked a bit dated and that we would probably only get a couple of hours of play out of the day. However, we we’re there from 10am to 3.30pm and that was on a rainy day!

The staff were very friendly and helpful which is always a bonus.

We had packed swimmers for the kids as it had forecast to be a lovely warm day but unfortunately it rained pretty much the whole time we were there. I was totally disappointed as I really wanted to take my daughter to the water park. It looked fabulous and was obviously the newest area of the park.

We took the kids to the Pharaoh indoor soft play. It was quite dark in there but the kids had a great time. Slides, soft play, bouncy castle and swing ride. They spent a good couple of hours in there. It was still raining so we decided to have our lunch in there too. We took a packed lunch so I can’t comment on the food there.

We had to go into another building to use the toilets and nappy changing area which was a shame. They were very dated and the changing area was very basic but served its purpose.

We decided to brave the rain and went to the Ferris wheel and the play area with the little houses in it, the pirate ship and the hedge maze. We also went up to the farm too which was good. There was a board with all the times for the activities that they did, e.g. goat feeding etc…

We went into the Alien Galaxy Zone for some more shelter for the rain which again the kids loved.

Some of the rides weren’t open which was a shame but there was still plenty to do and we didn’t do everything.

Some money needs to be spent to update the place however none of the kids were bothered by this. Each and every one of them had a great day and I would definitely come here again, though maybe on a sunny day.

If I lived closer I’d consider getting an annual pass.
