The London Bridge Experience is located in Tooley Street, London very close to the entrance to London Bridge Station so it is easily accessible. There wasn’t a very large queue to gain entry and the staff were very friendly and welcoming whilst still remaining in character (they are all dressed up in period costumes from London’s gruesome history).
The experience itself lasted only an hour and that included the London Tombs, which young children would probably find too frightening, and you would have to avoid if you had taken your children.
The first part of the experience was quite good, with different areas to visit and the actors were informative and amusing. I wouldn’t say that it was particularly scary although there was a small girl in the group we joined to be shown around, and she was frightened at one point so you should be careful if your children are of a nervous disposition. There is an exhibit regarding the history of London Bridge which we were left to look at, before moving onto the rest of the visit, but unfortunately because we didn’t know how long we had before we had to move on we didn’t really explore it fully.
The London Tombs (billed as the scariest part of the attraction) was a little bit of a let down, just walking in single file, with your hand on the shoulder of the person in front, in darkness through some exhibits and having to squeeze through some tight spaces, so not good if you are claustrophobic. You do have the option to leave before this part of the experience. As you walk through the darkness there are actors hidden throughout and you can hear them in the darkness, at times they will jump out to try and scare you so could be quite a shock if you scare easily.
When you consider the price you would pay for a ticket and the fact that you may have to forgo the latter part of the experience under certain circumstances (please check their website for full details before visiting), I wouldn’t say that the London Bridge Experience is value for money.
The overall experience was just OK, I wouldn’t go back again.
