Eye Majic Instant Eyeshadow Review

Reviewed by Rebecca Wong
I’m not going to lie; eyeshadow and I are kind of like long lost friends. Whilst I still think of it fondly, I just don’t have time to entertain it anymore. I would love to have perfectly blended palette adorning my upper lids on a daily basis but like a long-lost friend, my eyeshadow collection and I only get together on special occasions these days. I’m busy busy busy – aren’t we all! So, I have my make-up routine down to a very quick 5-minute transformation, not a minute more.
So, when Eye Majic came my way; promising ‘professional eyes in 10 seconds’ I was sceptical to say the least. Having sat through hours (in my less busy days) of online tutorials telling me how to carefully and painstakingly blend my eyeshadow shades in a long and slow process, I really didn’t believe that it was possible to achieve in 10 seconds! But I was willing to give it a go.
I probably chose a bad day, knowing I had to get my make-up done followed by approximately 972 tasks before getting my kids to school – on time. The pressure was on. The packaging was neat and compact, although in these packaging wary times, could have probably been a little less. The box told me this was the ‘Worlds First Instant Eyeshadow’ and the instructions were minimal. Not happy with this I headed to the online tutorials as suggested on the box only to discover that there really wasn’t much else to it. Simply press on the eyelid for 4 seconds, glide toward the outer edge, blend if needed using the applicator and go!

I had Shade 22, the Crème Brulee. Consisting of some lovely cream and brown shades that I would often choose to wear on the occasion when I do wear eyeshadow. I was a little unsure, knowing that if I messed it up, I would have to wash my face and start again which I didn’t have time for. So, I took the leap… and guess what it really was that simple, I glided it on and it looked pretty great. I used the pad to blend a few bits and finish the outside edges, but I was really happy and it was so quick I wondered what I was worried about. In fact, I spent more time marvelling at the result!
I was really impressed and felt like a million dollars all day. I even found if I went over it in the evening with the same pads from the morning that it revitalised the look a little, not that I needed to. I was definitely the most glamorous mum on the school run that morning!
More importantly, its shown me that I don’t need to have hours to spare getting ready if I want a really great professional looking made-up look. I can’t wait to try the Smokey Eyes on a night out! At £5.99 for 5 pairs of application pads I think this is great value for money. Some of my eyeshadow palettes have cost more than that for lots more colours but they never see the light of day.
I think this is a genius product for anyone who is short on time or struggles putting on eyeshadow and getting the look just right. I really do recommend this and can’t wait to try some different colours! Thanks Eye Majic for reuniting me with my old friend!
