We had a fantastic sing a long evening at Tunbridge Wells Assembly Hall watching the uplifting performance of Thank You For The Music. The show combines the music from two of the world’s favourite bands, the Bee Gees and Abba, in an amazing feel good show.

The first half is dedicated to the Bee Gees with  all their greatest hits; Night Fever, Stayin’ Alive, More Than A Woman, You Should Be Dancing, How Deep is Your Love?, Jive Talkin’, Tragedy, Massachusetts, Words, I’ve Got to Get a Message to You, Too Much Heaven, You Win Again, If I Can’t Have You, and Islands in the Stream. Whilst they may not look like the Bee Gees they give a great performance and have the crowd up dancing from the very beginning whilst gyrating in the white suits the Bee Gees are so well known for.

The second half of the show moves on to the fabulous music of Abba performing the all the well-known hits; Waterloo; Dancing Queen, Super Trouper, Mamma Mia, Knowing Me, Knowing You, Gimme Gimme Gimme, The Winner Takes It All, Thank You for the Music, Fernando, Money Money Money, The Name of the Game, Take A Chance on Me, Chiquitita, SOS, I Do I Do I Do I Do I Do, Voulez Vous, I Have A Dream, Lay All Your Love On Me, Honey Honey, Ring Ring, Summer Night City, Does Your Mother Know and One of Us. Again another fantastic hour of dancing singing and clapping accompanied the band in their full Abba regalia.

Tunbridge Wells Assembly Hall is currently undertaking a refurbishment at the moment and new seats have been fitted to the main area and tiered stalls making it even more comfortable. You can tell that it’s going to be really great when it’s completed in a couple of weeks’ time but in the meantime the renovations are not interfering with the comfort of the theatre whatsoever.  As ever the staff were prompt and courteous, the bar was well stocked and the venue clean and tidy. Tunbridge Wells Assembly Hall is a great place to visit with a multi storey car park next door for easy parking and great facilities for the disabled.

A great night was had by everybody at Tunbridge Wells Assembly Hall young or old as whilst watching Thank You for The Music, you can’t sit still for a minute. You are either clapping, toe tapping or up dancing. A fabulous feel good night out.
