Calling all horror fans! Lighthouse, Poole has got a treat in store for you. The Woman in Black is returning to Lighthouse, Poole later this month for a magnificent five-night run. Following on from an extraordinary 33 year run in London’s West End, the legendary production of Susan Hill’s chilling ghost story, continues to keep audiences spellbound.
Creeping into town from Tuesday 17th to Saturday 21st February 2026, with seven spine‑tingling performances, this is your chance to be well and truly spooked. Don’t miss it!
Already seen by more than seven million people worldwide, this iconic thriller follows the story or Arthur Kipps, a lawyer tormented by a curse he believes has been cast upon his family by the mysterious titular ‘Woman in Black’.
In his desperation, Arthur, played by John Mackay, recruits a young actor, played by Daniel Burke, to help him bring his story to life and confront the terror that has consumed him for decades. However, what begins as an innocent rehearsal soon blurs into something deeply unnerving.
Using the magic of theatre — light and darkness, sound and silence — the production builds an irresistible sense of tension and atmosphere. Rather than relying on spectacle, it embraces simplicity, drawing power from suggestion and letting the audience’s imagination do the rest.
I’ve not seen this show before, but I’ve heard so many good things about it. I’m genuinely excited to take my seat for the most spine‑tingling night of the year so far. See you there!
