The seven year old in our family loves all things squishy, she has a large personal collection and is always drawn to them when looking around any shops, being able to make your own takes this craze to a whole other level and we were both very excited to try this new kit.
First job was to unpack everything, inside the box are
the components needed to assemble the “factory “
two moulds ( a rabbits head and a paw print)
two bottles of gel
three little pots of coloured paint ( blue, yellow, pink)
two stirring sticks
two mixing pots
one sheet of stickers
two packets of glitter
three packets of other decorations
four clear resealable pouches
one instruction sheet
The instructions include lots of pictures and are very easy to follow, we made the first one together then the seven year old was off on her own mixing and creating with a big smile on her face, she loved it and her imagination ran wild, this was when I had to remember I wasn’t a child and hold myself back to let her do her own thing, I do enjoy watching her being creative and adult supervision is recommended.

The squish mixture was easy to use and didn’t have any smell, measured contents of bottle A and bottle B are put into the cute little mixing pot part of the factory and mixed together by turning a handle on the top then the coloured paint is added and mixed in then there’s the option to add glitter before tipping the mixture into a funnel that leads down to the chosen mould which fits into a groove on the base of the factory, this has to be left for one hour before releasing, the squishy is very sticky when it comes out of the mould and can be decorated with the confetti type things included in the box, then the squishy goes into a zip lock pouch and can be squished as much as you like, the stickers are used to decorated the outside of the pouch.

A great rainy day activity, be prepared for some mess, put a cover on the table, the squishy substance is very, very sticky and ends up being on everything, it is removed quite easily once dried and does not stain anything. Once removed from the mould we found it almost impossible to get the squishy into the little pouch it kept sticking to the opening of the pouch and our fingers resulting in the shape getting very distorted, our squishies looked more like aliens than the cute rabbit and paw print we were expecting.
It was still a lot of fun despite the disappointing end results.

Made by Canal Toys this kit is suitable for ages 6 and up and four squishes can be made. Priced at £12.99 a lovely alternative to chocolate at Easter or good birthday gift.
