The Atomy Absolute Ampoule is a fairly swanky looking product in my opinion and I took a look on the website to learn a little more as I had never heard of the company of the product.  First of all Atomy is a South Korean multi-level marketing company founded in 2009 and only recently reaching the UK shores for sales structures in 2021. Apparently it is now the largest networking company in Korea with substantial growth in products and distribution. There seems a to be a greater familiarity with the products in countries such as Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Canada, Malaysia, Cambodia, Thailand, Australia, Indonesia, Russia, India, China, Colombia, the Philippines, Mexico and USA
The website for Atomy gives raving descriptions of the product and as award winners for the Atomy Absolute Ampoule they would appear to be well within their bragging rights.

They show badges of excellence from the Dermatest Institute of Dermotology in Germany for 2016 and describe science involved in production by the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute. It talks the talk but does it walk the walk?

The Atomy Absolute Ampoule is a 40ml blue glass bottle with a pipette lid which can be controlled by the silver button on top. This is a fairly slick device, less likely to degrade than the rubber or plasticised version we often see with high end skin products and oils in the U.K.

The product is claimed to reverse signs of aging by harnessing the use of tocopherol and catechin amongst other more mysterious elements and all blended with the most useful aspects of green tea into what is essentially a serum.
It all sounds terribly impressive, but I don’t like to be dazzled by science, I like laymans evidence, so I did some research of my own. Tocopherol is basically vitamin E. Vitamin E is an oil-soluble antioxidant frequently found in topical skincare since at least the 1970’s. It’s alleged that vitamin E can assist in reducing the damage of free radicals – harmful molecules generated by radiation from sunlight and pollution.

Catechin is a natural phenol -a mildly acidic disinfectant and also an antioxidant. Again this is popular in skincare products.  These ingredients, blended with green tea which is another antioxidant, should realistically be brilliant on the skin and any oil based product usually is. Especially as Atomy also describe the use of multi capsule micro emulsion. We know emulsion is smoothing and plumping, so from the outset the topical application should create a general positive impression from the outset.

This in mind I gave it a try. Using the dropper it’s easy to control how much you apply. The recommendation on the website is to use a full bottle per month, both morning and night supporting the skin’s own natural cycle. We don’t have the opportunity to test for a month but with several days use I can say that my skin feels smoother and with greater moisturisation for certain. I had dry patches around my mouth and smile lines arising from the recent poor weather and even after 4 days use of the Atomy Absolute Ampoule they’re gone.

Even after the first application I had a feeling this would most likely be a comfortable layer under make-up and having tried that I can honestly say my make-up stayed on in the same way it usually does, but the dry lines definitely were alleviated. The Atomy website describes an improvement to elasticity and vitality. I can certainly agree with elasticity being improved after just 4 days use.

The Atomy Absolute Ampoule is apparently fragranced with tuberose, it’s a light, floral smell which is quite pleasant when winding down from a busy day. I didn’t feel the smell really lingered on my skin. This might be different if used in conjunction with the wider array of Atomy skin care products.

As a stand-alone I like the Atomy Absolute Ampoule, it seems to do what it claims, it feels comfortable on my skin and below make-up.

Rating: 4.5/5
