Botonique Wine Review

Reviewed by Janine Rumble

Botonique wine is a healthy alternative in wine for the health conscious amongst us. It is a crisp dry white wine that can be drunk without the consequences of a hangover the next day. It is made with de-alcoholised botanical extracts plus Prelixer nutrients and has one sixth of the calories that normal wine has, so is a much healthier option.

Botonique wine claims to be anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-toxins and anti-dehydration. And they say it is a satisfying alternative to alcohol that also replaces nutrients.

They say it is a refreshing, aromatic intriguingly complex, deliciously dry wine with no added sugar, artificial sweeteners, flavours, colours, preservatives or sulphates.

They also say that it’s unique flavour is extracted from herbs, spices, citrus, milk thistle seed and ginseng with added Prelixer vitamins, minerals, amino acids and a touch of pear juice.

It definitely has a unique flavour, fragrance and taste. I would say it’s an acquired taste. If you are looking for a healthy alternative to wine or looking to buy a gift, such as a Mother’s Day present for someone who does not like wine, this is a great gift for them.

The bottle in which it comes, looks just like a normal bottle of wine, but is covered in information about the wine itself, which is very interesting to read and informative too. Especially if like me you have never try non-alcoholic wine before.

It has a screw top and once opened the wine must be consumed within 7 days, if it lasts that long. Once poured it looks just like any other glass of white wine, so if you were drinking it with other wine drinkers, you would not look out of place. It has a lovely colour and sparkling bubbles. As I said before, it is an acquired taste, but I would recommend you try it. Looking online it retails at about £7.99 a bottle, which is expensive in my opinion, but for those looking for a healthy wine alternative, this could just be what you are looking for.

I would give this wine a 2 out of 5 as it just wasn’t to my taste.
