Best of British Beer Craft Beer Box Review Review

Reviewed by Helen Noble
‘Best of British Beer’ was created by husband and wife team Will and Gill Sherwin in 2011 with one simple aim in mind – to help wave the flag for this country’s finest independent breweries. Over 250 different breweries later, they reckon they are pretty much on course to achieve that goal. The British craft beer scene is really vibrant at present with over 1400 producers – the highest figure since the 1940s. They pride themselves on the choice of products they sell, speed of service and their commitment to support one of Britain’s most traditional industries. Working directly with each brewery so their customers know that they are getting a truly personal service and the freshest beer possible.
They certainly were true to their word!
On receiving these I noted that they were delivered very quickly and well packaged in a sturdy cardboard box secured with fragile tape so it would be noted to be handled with care during transit to avoid any breakages.
Once taken out of the outer packaging the main display box is created to look like a row of books with individual quirky one liner titles. It has a lift up lid which was slightly tricky to open, more so because I thought it was going to tear upon opening but it is just a tight solid fit, obviously done to keep the whole box more sturdy with it having the weight from the bottles, under this lid there was another lid with a simple slotted fastening, the bottles are segregated inside with card giving it a lovely crate look as well as preventing the bottles from knocking together. If given as a gift the recipient would not know until opened they were receiving glass bottled beers, to which the clinking noise of the glass is usually a giveaway.
These were the mixed option of craft beers 8 x 330mls lager, pale and IPA chosen from the UK’s leading independent microbreweries including the following selection of best of British titles:
- JARL – Fyne Ales 3.8% Vol
- AM:PM – Thornbridge IPA 4.5% Vol
- SILURES – Golden pale ale 4.6% Vol
- BAA PILSNER – Pilsner beer 5% Vol
- PALLISER BAY – Kiwi Pilsner 4.9% Vol
- PONY TRUCK – Steam infused ale 3.8 Vol
- ADDER – Czech style pilsner 5% Vol
- CORNISH LAGER – Swifties 4% Vol
On their website www.bestofbritishbeer.co.uk you will find a variety of bundles to choose from with a range of prices to suit, where you get the option to choose the style of beer you would like from Lager, Pale & IPA or Mixed.
They each have their own distinguished palatable taste to them which made a nice refreshing change, with a fair price making them well worth the money.
These would make an excellent birthday or Christmas gift for any avid beer drinker, you can choose a day for them to arrive and even have them sent straight to the recipients address.
I would highly recommend!
