Beauty Stocking Fillers Review

Reviewed by Louisa Nashir

Being a busy mum and volunteer in my local community I have very little time to ‘doll’ myself up, so when I get the opportunity to, I enjoy it. I am very much an ‘extra half hour in bed’ kind of person as opposed to getting up crazily early to ‘put my face on’.

Recently I was sent a mini beauty bundle that would make perfect stocking fillers this Christmas. The bundle contained Rubis Gold Star Slanted Tweezers, Twist & Spritz Refillable Fragrance Atomiser and a Hand Palette by MAKEUPBOX LDN to test and review. I couldn’t wait to try each item!

Rubis Tweezers Classic Stars Gold

One thing I always like to keep on top of is my eyebrows. Over the years my brows have been plucked to within an inch of their life, heavily pencilled in, big and bushy and even dyed with natural henna.

Brows are one of the most noticeable features on our faces so I like to keep mine looking in great shape. When I was recently sent the Rubis Classic Gold Star Tweezers to review, I was delighted. I have heard of Rubis before so was looking forward to giving my brows a good pamper and tidy up with the tweezers. I was pleased to see the tweezers were slanted. I usually choose slanted tweezers as they are far better at removing the full hair and root in one go rather than other tweezer shapes which often snap the hair mid pluck. The tweezers are incredible and feel very strong and reliable.

The gold star decoration is stunning, and these tweezers stand out from the crowd. I noticed whilst using the tweezers that they weigh a lot more than my usual pair and to me, they felt like they would last years. The tweezers came in their small zip-locked bag with a plastic tip protector on the ends to keep your tweezers safe and clean. The tweezers are made from surgical stainless steel and are rustproof and of the finest quality. Each set is finished by hand under a magnifying glass and has won many international design awards. It’s easy to see why they are STUNNING!

Although these tweezers are priced a lot higher than other brands, you really can see why. The quality is second to none and they are a worthy investment for your make up bag that will last for years.

Twist & Spritz Refillable Fragrance Atomiser

I love perfume so was very pleased to receive the Twist & Spritz Refillable Fragrance Atomiser as part of the beauty bundle I was sent. My favourite perfume is Ghost and the bottle is massive! Far too big to fit into my handbag when out for the day or night so an atomiser is something I wanted.

The Twist & Spritz atomiser I received came in hot pink which for me is the best colour choices as I love pink! The atomiser came in a clear box and the design of the box was very high end and classy. Considering this atomiser retails for £10 it looks so much more expensive. I read the enclosed information leaflet on how to fill the atomiser and then set about filling it. It’s a doddle to fill by pulling the inner bottle out of the atomiser and taking the spray head off your perfume of choice. You then attach the atomiser bottle to your perfume bottle and begin pumping the perfume until the atomiser is full. Super easy and it holds 8ml of perfume which equates to 100 sprays. I use one or two sprays at a time as Ghost is a very strong fragrance and a little goes a very long way. The atomiser is airline approved so great if you are going away on holiday or a business trip and want to carry some perfume in your hand luggage with you to keep you smelling fresh during your flight. The atomiser comes in 16 colours and the new filling system makes it incredibly easy to fill from a much wider range of bottles than the previous design. This atomiser is an absolute must-have for any fragrance lover whether you are male or female. The design is sleek and compact and takes up very little room in my bag. I love my atomiser and take it with me wherever I go. This would make an excellent stocking filler for Christmas!

MakeupBoxLDN Hand Palette

I have lost count of the number of times I have stepped into my 18-year-old stepdaughters’ room to find the windowsill full of leftover liquid makeup which she has used whilst getting ready for nights out. My stepdaughter has an olive complexion and finds if difficult finding and exact foundation shade to match her skin tone, so ends up creating her own using various colours. This is great but the mess leftover afterward isn’t!

As soon as I opened the MakeupBoxLDN Hand Palette I offered it to her to try and see what she thought of it. She jumped at the chance and set about mixing and applying her foundation shade. I have quite large hands for a female and found it hard to get the 7.5cm x 6cm x 3cm palette onto my hand but it slid onto my stepdaughters with ease and she said it felt comfortable and safe. The 100% acrylic hand palette can be used for foundations, eyeliner, lipsticks, primers, and even glosses. The simple yet effective design is wonderful and saved on a ton of mess (hooray) and as it’s acrylic it’s easy to wash so very hygienic. I am so impressed with this fab little tool and my stepdaughter is very pleased with her new palette. What an amazing item that is another must-have for any makeup bag.

Overall, I am delighted with all 3 of these products and can see these appearing in many Christmas stockings this year. Wonderful gifts that don’t cost the earth that are well made and will last a long time.
