I was really looking forward to seeing the ‘Soul Legends’ show at the Grove Theatre in Dunstable. We arrived at the theatre, parked with no trouble at all in the spacious free car park. After a short stroll we arrived at the Grove Theatre. It always has a very welcoming feel when you walk in as it is so light and airy.
The foyer was packed with people of all different ages chatting and drinking. It’s a great place to meet friends before the start of the show. We picked up our tickets from a very friendly member of staff and then made our way to the auditorium. We queued for a few minutes and were then directed to our seats, which were brilliant, we had a great view of the stage. The auditorium started filling up very quickly and there weren’t many empty seats.
At 8pm the lights went down and the show started and WOW we weren’t disappointed, the atmosphere was electric and a lot of the audience were straight up dancing. Soul Legends were made up of 3 men and 3 women who all had excellent voices. They all sang individually and together and they were amazing. The songs kept coming and we were also dazzled with the amount of costume changes which had lots of sparkle and razzamatazz. They were backed by a great set of musicians which included drums, bass guitar, keyboard and lead guitar. The first half of the show just flew by and after a short break Soul Legends made their way back on to the stage to wow us with lots more 60’s, 70’s and 80’s hits. They sang songs by well-known artists such as Aretha Franklin, Earth, Wind and Fire and Barry White and they done a fabulous tribute to Michael Jackson. The whole audience was up dancing to all the songs Get Down On It, Natural Woman, Somebody Else’s Guy and lots, lots more.
The show was full of energy from start to finish and I think it’s one of the best shows I’ve seen and would definitely recommend you go to see it if you get the chance.
