I am a regular user of soft top socks so I was looking forward to trying these, I have always found soft tops to be a bit hit or miss in performance. On arrival, 3 pairs of men’s socks in black with little light grey/light blue squares for pattern, tasteful (other colours are available). First thing is the texture and feel of the material. Well, nice close weave with plenty of elasticity in the foot and leg area, same for the wide soft top (8cms), toe seam nice and small so unlikely to be uncomfortable or rub, heel area not bunched up or unnecessary seams. They feel quite luxurious and not too thick.
The real test comes with wear, having recently had a heel operation, I now have one normal leg and one chicken leg. First thing of note is they stretch up to about ¾ calf length, so far so good. Certainly feel comfortable on first impressions and snuggly warm. I wore pair one virtually all day mainly with slippers. They certainly stacked up well compared to other socks I have. Pleasantly warm feet all day, stayed up very well on normal leg, sometimes felt a little loose on thin leg, but stayed up well enough, not the sock’s fault, just the vagaries of two vastly different leg shapes at present. I even marked my leg with felt tip to see if they moved, they didn’t.
Day two, pair two, time for an outing. First time in trainers for twelve weeks so expecting a bit of trouble. Wow! The sock protected the scar tissue well, didn’t scrunch up or rub! Good start. Taken for a game of snooker, so they will get a fair bit of stretching and testing with standing and sitting motions plus walking about a bit. Two hours without any need to pull them up, totally comfortable. Straight back into slippers, I noticed still no need to adjust or pull them up. I checked both legs and couldn’t see any marks of cutting in at the tops so they are truly soft tops.
Day three, pair three, final test day to make sure my impressions of these socks are what they seem. Sceptical enough to look for anything that may detract from the quality. Plenty of varied use, including walking on tiled floor with no slippers, impressed as they didn’t slip and slide about. Find any fault? No.
Overall, the impression for these socks was excellent. Nice quality feel, with fair degree of warmth. Do they do the job? Yes indeed. I would certainly recommend them to others.
