French Aerial Circus PIGMENTS Show Flies Into Bank Park Warrington Review

This is not really a review on the ‘Free Outdoor Circus Show PIGMENTS’ as I only went to their practice session but more an information evaluation on what, I’m sure, is going to be a fantastic show.

We arrived in Bank Park in Warrington, where the show is going to be held, to huge scaffolding that must have been at least 15 metres above the ground, it was holding trapeze swings, ladders, ropes and everything that you would expect for the aerial spectacular that has been promised.

“Pigments by CirkVOST is a large-scale aerial spectacle taking over Bank Park. High above the ground, performers move between tension, flight and weightlessness, transforming the sky into a stage for bold collective movement”. (Warrington Arts Festival26 leaflet).

There are going to be twelve performers, and we were lucky enough to see eight of them practicing, performing unbelievable feats very high in the sky from swinging to each other, being caught in what looked like mid-air to twists and turns as they appeared to ‘fly’ from landing shelf to landing shelf.

Pigments is a contemporary French circus company and has only performed a few times in this country, so Warrington Arts Festival26 is very pleased that they are closing their annual festival, which is being held this year on 18th July 2026 to 25th July 2026. Pigments will perform on Friday 24th July 2026 at 5pm and Saturday 25th July 2026 at 9.30pm (as mentioned above they are closing the weeklong Warrington Arts Festival26). Judging by the number of lights we saw there will also be light displays and I was told there is also music and ‘beautiful’ costumes, it sounds like it’s going to be an amazing show. The show will be free to attend and is advertised as being suitable for all ages, it will feature a series of synchronized trapeze stunts and jaw-dropping performances that will increase in there daring, as I said it sounds like it’s going to be amazing.

Bank Park can be found at 5, Bankside, Crosfield Street, Warrington WA1 1UP and has a number of car parks close by, it has a children’s playground, open green spaces, lawn green bowls club, seasonal floral displays and a pavilion. It is open 24 hours and welcomes dogs and is a lovely open area where the show will be performed and will be able to accommodate, very comfortable, all the people who I hope will attend.

The Warrington Arts Festival26 has also got a number of other events taking place all over the area, these include Luke Jerram’s illumination of the planet Mars at Parr Hall where there will be yoga, music, performances and astronomy to name a few. There is also Baby Rave, Family Crafts and lots more, these are promoting arts, culture and creativity right across the town centre. This year will include art, theatre, dance, music, exhibitions, family events and large-scale outdoor performances from local creatives, international companies, community groups and artists.

It is difficult to rate a show you haven’t seen so I will base my rate on what I saw at the practice session, the enthusiasm I felt from two of the organisers and two of the volunteers, the fact that the performers build all their own equipment and the general feel I got from them all. I hope if you go all my predictions are right!
