We love DIY kits here, so I knew this would be well received! I saved this for a rainy day when I knew the little ones would be having their baths later on that evening. My daughter (10) and my son (7) love bath bombs and will spend hours not only choosing them in shops but playing with them in the bath. When I revealed what our craft activity was for that afternoon, they were really excited, getting to make your own bath bomb then use it is, according to my 7 year old, super cool!

The box is colourful, bright and inviting, the moulds and what was in the box very clear. Inside, were two packets of bicarbonate of soda, two packs of citric acid, a pipette, the instructions, the two moulds and two packets of coloured fizzing blocks.
We needed a bowl each, a spoon and a small glass of water, that was it. The instructions were very clear and easy enough for them to follow by themselves, adding just a little water to the bicarb ; which was scented, and then mixing it with the citric acid. Once the two packets were combined the children squashed the mixture into the moulds and arranged their coloured fizzers. There was more than enough mixture for the two bath bombs, we could have made a third but the children insisted on just making theirs bigger instead.

Each of the packets of fizzers contained five different colours. So, you could save some for more bath bombs in the future and use what you have at home. My son and daughter wanted to use all of them in one go, so we did.
After two hours, the bombs were set. They smelled good, overall like cherry but with a slight musty after scent although once in the bath it was just the cherry.
They bombs handled really well, not crumbly or breaking and when in the bath they did their job. A big hit with the littles, and with me. It was worth the crafting session, which wasn’t long at all and barely anything to tidy up. Both children have requested we do this again another time, and of course the answer is yes. They were fizzy, colourful and left only colour in the bath.
The box says age recommendation is 6 years plus, I’d happily agree with this, in some cases a younger child with proper supervision would also be perfectly fine making this. It is also fab for those who love sensory activities with the mixing, texture and scent aspects. Also it’s worth noting that they littles didn’t come out in any rashes after their baths too, which is good as some bath bombs can cause reactions (not saying they won’t cause any, just that they were fine with mine).
I think the only thing I could suggest is that they make basic refill packs. I could only find kits that came with moulds, and once you have the moulds you don’t really need more and it seems a little wasteful, so even just one basic refill pack would be a good addition to the range.
The RRP for this kit is £9.99, considering how much good bath bombs cost these days I’d say it was a fair price point. There are so many other kits to collect too, with different moulds and scents, things you can add in. I think it is going to turn into a very expensive new hobby for us (in a good way).
You can find the kit here. At the moment the price is a little higher than the RRP however it seems to vary.
Rating: I give this product 4.5 out of 5 stars, the 1/2 star being lost only because once the kit is made, you need to purchase another kit which comes with more moulds which seems a little wasteful and pricey. However, we did love the kit!
