Snow White at the Regent Theatre Review

Snow White

We took our two eldest girls to the Regent Theatre in Stoke-On-Trent to see the fairy tale Snow White in panto. We arrived a bit late so had missed the first 5 min so was worried the girls wouldn't catch up but within the first few minutes they were inhaled in the glitz and glamour of the panto world, with a glittery, golden set and a beautiful princess maiden, they were taken in and enjoyed it from the word go.

The fairytale plot is that, that everyone knows and loves but in amongst it was all the songs my girls love from their favourite artists such as One direction, they were both happily singing a long at the top of their voices with a big grin. The cast were fantastic and had the usual banter going on and mistakes that made for a hilarious show of improvisation and little added extras that it was quite obvious wasn't in the script as the cast were chuckling away, which for me was one of the highlights as it looks like they had as much fun as I did watching it.

I was really worried my husband was going to be bored senseless with the girlyness of the show and not really enjoy it but he spent the whole time chuckling away as there was a definite dad undertone to some of the jokes and even joined in with the wiggly worm bottom wiggle song at the end, which my girls had a fantastic time competing in the sing off. This was followed by a lovely moving speech by Jonathan Wilkes about his home town of Stoke-on-Trent.

A truly excellent, glittery, funny, fantastic night had by all. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute, the cast obviously are a tight nit family and it shows in the performance they have a real connection and make the night extremely entertainment. Thank you.
