With my daughter Izabella being a massive fan of the film Frozen she was overjoyed when I told her we were going to watch Sing-a-Long-a Frozen at the New Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham.
The New Alexandra Theatre is situated 3 minutes walk from new street train station and main bus routes. The theatre is very easily located and is situated opposite to the Mailbox, which is a shopping and restaurant complex. You will find parking facilities at the Mailbox as well as other parking facilities nearby for a minimal charge.
The theatre is surrounded in a good location with restaurants and bars nearby should you fancy a pre-show bite to eat.
As we entered the theatre we were greeted by friendly staff. The whole theatre and facilities are very clean and well maintained.
As we made our way to the second floor there was a lounge and bar area for us to wait. The whole lounge is very plush with beautiful fixtures and fittings.
As we waited to take our seats the room was buzzing with excited children dressed up as their favourite characters. We were shown to our seats and given a bag of props to use throughout various parts of the show.
Before the film started we were introduced to our host who whipped up more excitement and told us when to use our props. Anna and Elsa also made an appearance and sang a few of the songs from Frozen.
The show was a full viewing of the film Frozen on a very large screen. When a song came on the words were shown so you could sing along and use your props.
Seeing how excited Izabella was when “snow” came from the ceiling during various times during her show and hearing her and the other children and parents singalong to “Let It Go” and “Do You Want To Build a Snowman” was lovely. The show is really interactive my daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would definitely go to another singalong show as the atmosphere was magic.
