The Warmies® website states that “Warmies® are fully heat able soft toys that can be heated in a microwave to provide hours of soothing warmth and comfort. These luxuriously soft plush designs are gently scented with relaxing lavender and can be reheated repeatedly. Warmies® are weighted, warming, scented and super cuddly, making them an ideal gift for all ages!”
I was gifted a Warmies® Yellow Flower Pot to review on behalf of “What’s Good To Do.” The item was posted to me in a grey plastic mail bag—the external packaging did not indicate what was inside, which I suggest is perfect if you are buying this as a gift for a family member or someone else within the same household.
I opened my parcel to discover a beautiful soft toy in the style of a yellow sunflower in a flower pot. This is an adorable plush flower in an equally cute pot. At first peek, I can safely say I am going to love my everlasting Warmies® sunflower.
In my opinion, a Warmies® would make the perfect gift e.g. Mother’s Day, a birthday or as a gift for anyone who prefers not to have fresh flowers or isn’t very good at looking after a real plant! Or perhaps as a gift for that friend who just loves sunflowers.
The Warmies® Yellow Flower Pot is a plush velour flower with yellow petals and a brown centre, supported by a velour green sturdy stem with leaves shooting out of each side, ‘planted’ in a soft, furry, fleecy, weighted flower pot. The flower pot has these gorgeous little padded velour arms and legs that attach to the sides and base and there is an embroidered happy little face stitched into the centre, which makes me smile every time I look at my Warmies®.
It truly is unique, whimsical, and would appeal to people of all ages.
Not only is the Warmies® Yellow Flower Pot a cute and quirky design, but this is also a functional item. This is because this plushie has been designed to offer soothing comfort for individuals of all ages, including adults and children.
Warmies® are filled with a combination of specially treated millet and dried lavender, and can be heated in the microwave if you are after warmth or placed in the freezer if it is a ‘cold pack’ effect that you are after, (I popped mine in a clean freezer bag to keep my Warmies clean and dry as they chilled amongst the bags of frozen peas and boxes of fishfingers in our family freezer).
Warmies are also perfectly weighted and they can provide a little bit of gentle compression, which I am advised, can reduce anxiety and support sleep. Similar to the way a weighted blanket works, the compression from the weighted stuffed Warmies® plushie is like a nice comforting hug. I understand that it can also support with lowering blood pressure and heart rate, which would aid both adults and children to drift off to sleep peacefully.
The warmth and lavender scent of the Warmies® can provide calming and relaxing benefits, the lavender is not at all, strong or overpowering. And I would suggest that if you are caring for an anxious or stressed, individual then you could consider giving Warmies® a try!
When you want to heat your Warmies®, basically all you need to do is simply follow the instructions that are printed on the permanent satin tag that is attached to your Warmies®. My Warmies® Yellow Flower Pot has the satin tag attached to the base, and the directions and timings are clearly printed out with the timings that are needed to heat your Warmies® based on the power of your microwave. It stays warm once heated for 40-45 minutes.
If your preference is for your Warmies® to provide a chilled effect, then you need to use the freezer. The easiest way to do this is to place the Warmies® in a grip-seal freezer bag and chill them for up to 3 hours, you will then be able to enjoy refreshing coolness.
You can cuddle up on the couch, take your Warmies® to bed, or carry them for comfort on the go. I’d suggest that they are ideal for long car journeys.
Whether heated or chilled, Warmies® can help with aches and pains (and would be ideal for a minor sports injury), alongside helping you relax after a long day, (and would be especially helpful if you have a stiff neck after having been sat at the computer all day) plus bedtime could be more positive for the whole family, especially if everyone has their own!
It was really positive to read that all Warmies® products are designed and manufactured to last for years and that they can be reheated thousands of times.
I’d just like to add that it’s important to note that you must always follow the heating guide and always allow the Warmies® to cool fully between uses. They are not machine washable and any marks or stains on the surface of your Warmies® would need to be carefully removed with a warm soft wet cloth (it must not be fully immersed in water because this would damage the contents of your Warmies®).
Safety is important to me, so I was reassured to read, Warmies® are manufactured using the highest quality materials, including specially treated and cleaned grains. Warmies® also comply with CE, EN71-1/2/3 and BS 8433: 2004 safety requirements which include flammability testing.
