My daughter absolutely loved the Sing-a-Long-a Frozen show! She is only 4 years old but already loves anything Frozen so this obviously went down a storm! On entering the theatre you are given a free prop bag and you are instructed when to use the contents during the show.
The show started with an introduction from the Oaken’s Trading Post character, and Elsa and Anna telling us about what the prop bag contained and when we should use each item, which was fun. They went on a little bit too long though as my daughter started getting bored as she wasn’t really taking in all they were saying. Once the film got started though it was great! The characters would come on every now and then at certain scenes and act out what was on screen. The kids loved it, and my daughter assumed it was the real princesses from the movie in front of her, very sweet!
There were lots of interactive parts to the show and lots of visual effects that she loved, like the snow blowing out from the ceiling, and bubbles (although you would only get those if you were on the floor seats) and the lighting they used was really affective, like the stars on the ceiling from a glitter ball.
The show itself was 2 hours 40 minutes, so fairly long considering there were a lot of children below the ages of 5 years (the show has a recommended age of 5 years +), and there were sections they could definitely have trimmed down, like the intro, but it was definitely a show I would recommend despite this, and an experience that my daughter clearly loved.
The venue itself was very clean, lots of areas to go and sit during the interval and several places to buy coffee and even children’s sweet shop sweets, not just expensive packets which I was very impressed with.
The only negative I have to point out is that as we left, there were not only (very overpriced) balloon sellers within the theatre trying to sell to every child they could see, but also two or three others outside the theatre that obviously weren’t from there, also trying to flog their wares. The result was lots of screaming children whose parents didn’t want to part with any more cash, which was a sad way to end a lovely experience, mine being one of them!
Such a shame as it meant I left feeling a little stressed out with an unhappy child.
Overall though, I would highly recommend the show to any Frozen lovers!
