Schleich Wildlife Reindeers Review

It was back in August 2021 that I first heard of Schleich and thought it best to do some research on them as I really did want to give the review at that time and the items the justice it and they deserved. I am so glad I did. It is a lovely company and of a Nordic family background myself, it was so heart warming to learn about the brand. I have put a brief introduction below for you.

I was surprised to learn that the brand dates back to 1935 by a gentleman named Friedrich Schleich in Schwäbisch Gmünd. He is one of the largest toy manufacturers in Germany today and the leading international provider of realistic animal figures. The design of the figures and play worlds, the manufacturing of the production tools and also the quality and safety tests are performed in Germany to this day. Production is carried out at the company’s headquarters in Schwäbisch Gmünd as well as other production sites abroad*.

Onto the reindeers which I must add that both are extremely adorable.

With Christmas just round the corner, what better way to fill up those stockings and with the current financial climate, this will even make a great gift for any one of any age. I was extremely lucky enough to get up close and personal with reindeers in Finland back in December 2018 and these little fellas brought back so many happy memories (I am in my 50’s and love them, see what I mean about a great gift for any age). These reindeers look so real and catch their eyes in the right lighting and they too look so real. Based on the 2 different ones I received, here are some brief notes about them as follows:-

REINDEER WILDLIFE
What stands out for me is the attention to detail. The eyes and hooves especially; they look so real. As in real life, the reindeer is depicted with a beautiful and stunning coat in grey and brown. They body and head are very strong and robust an the antlers and lower legs are slightly softer

REINDEER – XMAS REINDEER RUDOLPH

This has the same attention to details and details as above with the Reindeer Wildlife and more, it is just stunning. With is bright red nose and red striped antlers, who would not want this gorgeous figurine for Christmas. Be it a stocking filler, toy or even as a decoration, this gorgeous Xmas reindeer really does stand out. As a gift for any little one, they can have their very own little version for Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer and have him fly through the air.

There is a beautiful motif on the top side of this hind leg with 3 holy leaves and a berries. A perfect stamp to mark the occasion for any Christmas.
