As a household that currently has various games consoles, laptops, phones and three online gaming obsessed kids (and a husband though he would never admit it) we have bought many gaming headsets over the last few years. Our youngest girls, twins age 10, use gaming headsets daily to play online with their friends on an evening and aren’t always the gentlest with them hence why we have been though so many pairs. We have bought cheap ones and expensive ones in the past with mixed results for both.
Sades multi-platform gaming headset arrived quickly and all the packaging was recyclable. The headset model I received was Spirits headset in pink. These are compatible with PS4/PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Mobile, Nintendo Switch, VR, PC/Laptop. On opening the box the first thing I noticed was the headset looked robust made of thick plastic and I expected them to be quite heavy. When I lifted them out of the box I was extremely surprised at actually how light they were. They are equipped with 50 mm speakers that deliver excellent stereo sound on the majority of gaming devices. In play the sound is incredibly clear and crisp and makes the games really come to life. On the back of one of the ear cuffs are convenient controls for the volume and a mute/unmute button. These we especially useful to quickly turn off or lower the games sound when wanting to speak to the kids whilst they had the headset on. Though whilst playing with the headset on you can hardly hear any outside noise. Both my husband and kids tried the headset and they were all very impressed by them. The kids often complain that the last gaming headsets I bought them hurt their ears after awhile. The ear muffs on these are super soft and made of skin friendly leather. Your ear actually goes inside the ear muff rather than it sitting on your ear which made them much more comfortable to wear. There is also soft leather padding under where the headband part sits on your head for comfort. My girls have used these a lot since they arrived and haven’t complained once that they hurt. The sturdy but flexible microphone can be adjusted both up and down and bend round your face so you can position the microphone exactly where you want it. The microphone is made of thick strong rubber so wouldn’t be easily broke yet is extremely flexible. It picks up clearly from a distance and doesn’t have to be really close to your face. On the headset the size is adjustable by simply pulling and pushing the sides up and down making it suitable for both children and adults alike. This is easy and smooth to adjust and doesn’t feel flimsy like on other headset we have had before.
Inside the box with the headset was a clear and concise instruction manual. The headset has an 18 months warranty from purchase date.
Spirits model headset comes in a variety of colours not just pink. Colour option are black, blue, pink, red, white, cyan, rasta, orange and yellow. Exact specifications on the headset is available on the Sades website.
At £16.99 these are a good quality gaming headset for a good price. I would definitely recommend these to other and buy them for myself. In fact I may have to purchase another pair to stop my twins arguing over this pair!
