The moment this beautifully presented box arrived, I knew I was in for a real treat. There’s just something really satisfying about opening a parcel that’s clearly been put together with care—and this Premium Gin Tasting Set by Drinks by the Dram absolutely has. It gave me this lovely feeling of being back in Victorian times—refined, elegant, and full of charm. Like receiving a little chest of treasures.

The box itself is really sturdy, with a magnetic snap closure that feels smart and secure. Definitely the kind of thing you’d keep rather than throw out. The cardboard sleeve slides off and tells you exactly what’s inside—six exquisite wax-sealed drams, specially selected by Sam Simmons from Head of Whisky. That alone made me genuinely excited to try it. It just felt a bit special.

When you open it, it’s got a map picture of the Scottish Isles, and then there’s this lovely thick black polished paper with a wax seal. It looks really proper, really grand—like you’re back in the Victorian times. Just everything about it makes it feel special.

Then you get to the drams themselves—six little 30ml glass bottles, all sealed with wax and nestled neatly inside. They’re simple in design but look absolutely beautiful. Getting them out of the packaging was a bit of a squeeze, but once they’re out, they feel like something really special. That wax seal just makes them feel a bit more luxurious, like they’ve come from a time when everything was made with care.

I love that they’ve included a little set of tasting cards too. They come in a cardboard-style wallet, and each card gives you the nose, the palate, and the finish—so you know what to look out for as you taste. There’s space on the back for your own notes as well, which I thought was a lovely touch, especially if you’re into your gins or just want to remember which one was your favourite.

Each dram is enough for one proper tasting, or if you’re sharing like we were, it works out to about 15ml each. It’s a great way to try different gins without committing to a full bottle. They’ve chosen a really good mix too—gins from different countries and distilleries, so you can properly compare them and have a bit of fun with it.

This would honestly make a brilliant gift for any gin lover. It’s not overly expensive, but it feels like something a bit special. Perfect for birthdays, Christmas, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, or just as a treat for someone who loves trying new things. I’d be over the moon to receive something like this, and I’d definitely buy it for someone else too.

All in all, it’s just a lovely little set. Thoughtful, well put together, and a proper experience to open and enjoy.
