Roblox “Night of the Werewolf” Series 5 Playset Review

With the big summer holidays almost upon us, parents across the land are looking for ways to keep the kids entertained in the holidays. In many ways, it can be easier with smaller children – the issue that I have with my 9-year-old is that she would quite happily spend the full six weeks sat in front of the Xbox or on her iPad, which is quite simply not going to happen! She loves science and craft kits but trying to find actual toys that interest her isn’t always easy. Fortunately, we have been sent one to try out that she was completely dizzy about and couldn’t wait to get started on. The Roblox 12-piece playset combines her love of video games (and Roblox is one of her favourites) with proper, imaginative play, which is one of my favourite things for her to do!
Roblox make a number of these sets, but we were sent the Night of the Werewolf variant, which she was more than happy with. The set includes six of the blocky-style Roblox characters along with six accessories – in this case, a wheelchair, a jetpack, a staff, a knife and a pair of clown shoes. As I said, the figures are the standard Roblox blocky style, meaning they look rather like much larger versions of LEGO minifigures, and ours consisted of a clown, a cautious citizen, a suspicious citizen, a werewolf, hooded figure and punk metal guy.
The figures are mix and match style, which means that they all have removable arms and legs and you can swap between them to create any combination that you like. They also all have their own headgear, which can be swapped and the accessories fit all the figures. This makes for almost endless possibilities and combinations and both of my girls have had great fun creating ‘new’ characters from the component pieces.

The quality of the figures is actually very good; they feel robust and like they will stand up to a lot of play. The removable arms and legs snap securely in and out of place and the fittings are neither loose nor flimsy. Because the figures are a good size, I shouldn’t imagine they will end up lost in the same way that the LEGO minifigures do and we have already got a plastic tube for the bits so that the accessories don’t go missing. The girls have both said these are things that they would like to start collecting other sets from this range, so I am sure the tub will come in handy and as the collection grows the fun will just multiply as the number of outfit and figure combinations increases.
These toys are a great gift for kids who love the computer game, and where they may consider themselves too old for other toys – they’re a great way for them to spend a few hours not glued to a screen, which is always a winner for me!
