Pet Teezer was born out of the love of their detangling hairbrush Tangle Teezer. Launched in 2007, it soon became a must-have as a hairbrush that effortlessly detangled with no pulling or tugging. Hair was left looking and feeling beautiful with a healthy shine. Today, they are a global hairbrush brand that has won numerous awards and followers.
They say “we don’t sell hairbrushes, we sell fabulous hair”.
Nobody adores your dog as much as you do – they really are part of the family! Since they launched the world-famous Tangle Teezer hairbrush, pet lovers have pleaded with them to create a Tangle Teezer grooming brush especially for use on pooches.
Over the years they learnt how important it is that a dog’s coat looks and feels its best, so they created two brushes – one for de-tangling and de-matting and the other for de-shedding.
Advertised as a brush for detangling your dog’s coat quickly, and more importantly gently without any tugging or pulling – even on the finest of hair. Using a patented two-tier teeth technology, the long teeth gently remove dirt, reaching confidently down to the undercoat, whilst the shorter teeth smooth the hair and protect against matting. Can be used on wet or dry hair.
I usually use a slicker and metal comb to groom my cockapoo Juke. It’s never an easy task with his curly shaggy hair, and although the slicker works my cockapoo doesn’t really like the harsh metal bristles, so when I was given the opportunity to try the Detangling & Dog Grooming Brush (RRP £12) for myself I couldn’t wait to give it a go.
It comes in a clear recyclable packaging, with a little dog and cat logo saying ‘recommended by battersea’.
The brush I have is designed specifically for detangling. The main body is a navy hardened plastic with smooth curved edges. It has a matt non slip overlay, ingrained with mini dog and bone motifs along with the pet teezer logo. The bristles are bright orange with a slight shaping created by the long and short bristles, these feel firm yet not harsh. Although the brush is slightly longer than the human tangle teezer it can still be held with ease in your hand.
I found the brush easy to use and could get into the awkward areas like the armpits and under the chin, it brushed through the hair effortlessly, Juke seemed to be a lot more relaxed than usual, at one point he even rolled over and let me brush his belly which was a first for him so I could see he really enjoyed it. I would always go back through the hair with a metal come just to check that there are no knots or matting missed or left behind to which I could then tell that the pet teezer had done a great job.
The slicker brush is now redundant and the pet teezer is the new go to brush!
