I was very excited to review the OXO Good Grips Bladed Meat Tenderiser. I had never seen anything like this, and was used to using the traditional ‘hammer’ type tenderiser. As a mum of two very young children I am constantly looking for ways to minimize time preparing food in the kitchen.

When the product arrived I was very happy to find consumer friendly packaging, with a tab enabling me to get to the product quickly without having to get out scissors to cut into plastic, as you usually would find! This was a very refreshing change.

I had 2 steaks out ready to be tenderised and then marinated so without waiting any longer I started to figure out how to use it. At first I will admit I did struggle working out how to use it as there wasn’t any institutions on the packaging, but after a quick video that I found online it was much easier than I expected.

The blades glide into the meat effortlessly with minimal pressure having to be applied, it took me less than one minute to tenderise both steaks! Cleaning the device is made easier by the removable cover, and it is dishwasher safe which saved even more time.

One of the best features of the product is the blade lock. It means that you can’t accidentally press the blades down (which are incredibly sharp!). This feature is a must for me as I’m always busy and wouldn’t want to have an accident.

After marinating and cooking the steaks I was impressed with the results. The holes made by the blades meant that the marinade worked more effectively and also ensured that the meat was tender and not chewy at all.

I will definitely be recommend in grips product to family and friends as it saved time and was much more effective than the traditional hammer type tenderisers.

A brilliant product overall!
