My husband loves listening to his music, the louder the better, but sometimes I really don’t want to listen at the same time, so a set of really good quality headphones is an absolute necessity, and I was delighted to be given a pair of Pioneer DJ HDJ-CUE1 headphones to review.
The headphones came attractively packaged in a sturdy recyclable cardboard box, which clearly demonstrates the specifications. On opening the package, I found the stylish, well-built headphones with the Pioneer DJ logo on the top, plus a 1.2 m coiled cable and a full instruction guide. I was so happy to see that the headphones are wired so they can be plugged in to my husband’s tablet or phone enabling him to listen to music on long journeys. We are due to go on holiday in a few weeks, so the headphones will prevent him from becoming bored whilst travelling.

The Pioneer Cue 1 DJ headphones are well padded on all sides, providing comfort when listening for several hours and are very lightweight, weighing only 215 g without the cord. The ear cups turn a full 90 degrees and the flexible cushioned headband ensures listening comfort at all times. My husband has an eclectic taste in music, ranging from classical and opera to loud, pulsating, heavy rock music, so it is important for him to differentiate between the high and low sounds and enjoy the full richness of whichever type of music he is listening to. The dynamic drivers enable him to listen to the music with crystal clarity.
The headphones are primarily designed for DJs but are just as useful for other people who just enjoy their music. My husband has been a music lover all his life. As well as listening to music on his tablet, phone and lap top, he also has an extremely expensive music system and still plays vinyl records, which he is convinced sounds better than anything else. He can plug the headphones into his system and play his music full blast without annoying the neighbours!

The headphones which I received are in a smart black leather look design but they can be customised by changing the ear pads for a range of different coloured ones, which are readily available to buy. I actually prefer the black colour but a DJ would probably prefer the funkier more colourful choice. As they do not come in their own bag, they can be folded up small and easily and carried either in a pocket or even just left sitting around the back of your neck.
Pioneer is one of the best known brands in the business and is renowned for quality. These headphones are affordable and are extremely good value for money. The high resolution sound makes them an excellent selection. If you are a DJ or just someone who likes listening to your favourite music the Pioneer Cue 1 DJ Headphones are an excellent choice. My husband is absolutely delighted with them and as they are of such good quality, he will continue to enjoy them for many years to come.
