The Pink with Purpose shelving from BIGDUG, which is backed by Breast Cancer UK, and is being promoted across October for Breast Cancer Awareness month. They will be donating 10% of every sale to Breast Cancer UK. As this is a cause close to my heart, I was thrilled to review these products.
BIGDUG are the storage solution experts and have designed this very pink and very competitively priced product, from £50 RRP. Its hot pink colour is very bright and colourful without being garish and would look perfect in any room due its industrial style design. I have put the shelving unit in my spare room/craft room and it looks great. Lots of shelf space for all my crafting bits and pieces. I was also sent 8 x 31 litre pink Wham boxes with lids to review as well and these fit perfectly on the shelves. They are a soft pink and hold so much and the lid is a brilliant touch to keep everything inside the box clean and dry, perfect if you are going to use the shelving in a garage or a shed.
The shelving unit was easy to assemble as there were two of us, but this may have been a little more tricky if I had tried to assemble these by myself. The parcel the shelving came in was extremely heavy and would have been difficult to get into the house if I was on my own. The instructions were easy to follow and assembly was easy because of the instructions. Just make sure you have plenty of space in which to assemble the shelving. All you need is a mallet to tap the shelving together…simple.
The shelves can be assembled at any height you need them and can be adjusted easily. Each shelf supports 200kg UDL so are extremely sturdy. I love the fact that you can either have it as one shelving unit, or you can make it into two smaller shelving units, making it adaptable and flexible for the spaces you have. The unit itself also comes with protective feet and a wall fixing set included, a safety feature must have if you are going to keep the unit at 5 shelves high.
The shelving unit itself is made of powder coated steel and each of the 5 shelves are made from high-density fibreboard (HDF). These shelves are double sided, with one side being HDF and the other white melamine for whichever look you would like to achieve.
The shelving looks brilliant, so sturdy and well worth the £60 RRP and the boxes are brilliant. When BIGDUG says they are the storage solution experts, they are not lying. This Pink with Purpose shelving unit is brilliant and will last a lifetime. Their website is full of useful photos, hints and tips regarding the product I reviewed, which is brilliant for a customer, like myself, who does not have a vast knowledge of storage. There are lots of other brilliant products on the website, that I may have to get in the near future.
I give this product 5/5 stars, not just for the product, but for a brilliant company who are raising money and awareness for a great cause, the shelving unit and storage boxes being brilliant is just a part of it.
