The Miraculous Switch N Go Scooter toy features a ladybug doll and a ladybug scooter.  The toys are securely packed in a cardboard box with a cellophane window showing the doll.

It did take me a while to get it out of the packaging.  Scissors are definitely needed for this.  There is no assembly required and it does not need batteries, so once it was removed from the packaging it was ready to be played with.
Ladybug is a heroine from the computer animated children’s show Miraculous.  Marinetti is a teenage girl who turns into Ladybug the superhero and along with another superhero Cat Noir who is also Adrienne a teenager boy from the same school as Marinetti they protect the city of Paris from evil forces.  There is also a little bit of a love story between them but it’s complicated. The shows can be seen on various tv channels and entertainment platforms.

The Ladybug/Marinetti doll is 26cm tall, has fully jointed arms and legs and comes dressed in her red and black lucky charm Ladybug suit and red boots which are all removable.  Her hair is tied in bunches but can be undone for combing and restyling, there is also a matching safety helmet.

The Scooter is in a matching red and black Ladybug design.  The doll can be posed to sit on the scooter and there is a seatbelt to secure her to the seat.  We did struggle to get her hands to stay on the handle bars though.  The wing mirrors and handle bars fold down and the two sides of the scooter fold down to pack the scooter away into a neat ladybug and what was used as the seatbelt on the scooter can now be attached to the folded up scooter to make a little carrying handle.  It can be quickly opened up again by pressing a button on the top.  This makes it very easy to transport the toy.

When I explored it with the four year old in our family, even though we’d never seen the show we had great fun unfolding the scooter, taking Ladybug on a little scooter ride and then folding away the scooter again.  With practice we got quicker and quicker at opening and closing the scooter for quick get aways, and then even more play fun when we discovered we could restyle her hair.  After playing with the toy we found an episode of the show to watch on youtube.  I think the show is probably aimed at children a little older.  I’d say maybe six or seven.

The doll is compatible with the Marinetti balcony room that is also available.  Made by Bandai the toy is not suitable for children under 4 years and is available from Amazon.co.uk priced at £42.99.  There are other characters and accessories based on the show available.

A perfect Christmas gift for any child who is a fan of the show or just loves superheroes and dolls.
