Christmas is approaching rapidly and one of the joys of December for children is the excitement of counting down the days. Nothing says Christmas is coming like an advent calendar and the shops are full to bursting with different styles and types. From traditional picture types, chocolate and, the more recent gift filled options, there is something for everyone. Traditionally we always have a chocolate one to share, but I think the ones filled with little toys and gifts are a great idea for steering away from yet more festive calories.

Whilst the young pre-schoolers in the family are pretty easy to cater for, the slightly older children become more difficult, in this time of screen based games its harder to find interest in standard toys. This is where the Roblox advent calendar is a fantastic choice. The calendar is aimed at the slightly older primary school child, suitable from age 6 years, and is based on the popular on-line game. With Roblox being in high demand with players growing at a very high rate, so I’m sure this will be a very desirable calendar.

The calendar is basically a decent size cardboard box with excellent computer graphic type festive branding. The box folds open creating two flaps which reveal a stand up snowy scene encompassing 24 large, square, numbered box shaped doors. The doors are perforated, and each reveals a surprise gift inside, totalling 30 pieces of Roblox. The 30 pieces fit together to create 6 exclusive holiday mini figures that you can stand up in front of your snowy scenery. As the figures come in parts you could also mix and match and create some totally different figures, snowman head and Father Christmas body maybe?

The calendar also includes 2 item codes to unlock exclusive virtual items on the Roblox game online, this caused great excitement and added another dimension to this already enticing countdown to Christmas.

Inside door number 1 is the head and body of a Roblox gingerbread man. The legs are hidden in a different number door. It’s a great taster of what’s to come, but I won’t give away what’s behind each door! The pieces are a good size, not tiny or fiddly, and are easy to put together. In some of the doors there are packs of accessories instead of or as well as part of a figure, these are super cute and include a little wrapped gift and a festive sleigh. Prepare yourself a decent space where you can keep this Roblox Advent Calendar standing up throughout the advent period, then you will be able to open the doors and create the scene in-situ, adding to it every day until Christmas Eve.

The Roblox Calendar has an RRP of £26.00 which is on parr with most other similar children’s calendars on the market. The toys inside are good quality, and with 30 separate pieces I think it’s good value for money, especially as it includes the codes for the virtual items and the added excitement that brings. A fabulous gift for children age 6 and above.
