I have recently been asked to review Harry's Horse Wash Playset from the Mike the Knight Collection.
The packing is great as you can easily see what you get: a Mike the Knight Minifigure, Galahad, Mike's horse, a bucket and the barn. However it's good for storage. This however wasn't a big concern for us. As you can see, I live with a little knight myself (picture below). He found great joy in playing with the set, although his main focus was Mike and Galahad. From Jacob’s point of view I got this:
Good things:
* Mike can ride Galahad
* Galahad can stand on his hind feet
* Galahad likes to stand in the window and look outside
* Regardless of how much you try to bend Galahad, he bounces back and seems unbreakable
Things to improve on:
* Mike doesn't have a knightly helmet – why? Whenever he does something right he needs his helmet and his gloves!
* The Horse Wash is a bit fiddly and only has limited play value.
For us this was a good set to try and I would recommend it as a starter set to your Mike the Knight Collection. It is equally suitable as a present, although priced at £15 maybe more than what you would want to spend on a present? Play longevity is limited but little minds are creative and a horse and a knight go on various adventures in our house, just not at the Horse Wash.
