Marriage Lines is celebrating 50 years since it first airing on TV and is now available to buy on DVD (series 2 has been lost so only series 1 & 3 in this box set).
Newly married George (Richard Briers) and Kate Starling (Prunella Scales) has just returned from honeymoon to find that they are locked out of their flat. As they have only recently moved there they don’t know anyone but soon get to know their neighbours. The honeymoon is over and is now the start of constant quarrels, petty arguments and misunderstands.
In series 3 when things have settled down a bit Kate is now pregnant and is a constant source of stress for both of them.
Overall, despite this series being 50 years old (it ran from 1963-1965) if is still quite humorous and a lot of people will be able to relate to it no matter what your age.
A very good sit-com about the stresses and strains of married life in a very different era. Just a pity series 2 is missing as I enjoyed the show even though it was before my time.
Rating: 4/5
